Through and Through

Today’s meditation comes from Psalm 139.13:

For it was You Who formed my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

We are made in God’s image and likeness—crafted to be like our Maker through and through. Our godliness and beauty exists within and without, as God not only shapes our physical form, but our inward parts as well: the inner beings where our gifts and longings and hopes reside. God knits us together, so that each of us becomes an authentic reflection of the Creator. There is love in us. There is passion, too, along with the overpowering need to be who we are—whom God intends us to be. To deny or attempt to reshape what God placed in us during the knitting process is to question God’s sovereign will and wisdom. We honor God by accepting who we are. And only God and we know who that is.
