As we go forward--walking into our future (an image I never tire of)--it's good to know the changes in us change our dwellings. Because of God's love and light, the worst of places can never be as hateful or dark as they once were for us!

I'm so glad you liked Kirk's song. As I mentioned above, it's a real "keeper" for me--and I trust it will be for you, too!

Blessings, dear friend,
TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-83129516076620780022011-01-04T01:23:18.270-06:002011-01-04T01:23:18.270-06:00Tim, Thank you so much. The last part really cuts through swathes of New Year gloom for me and really does open up the hope road in a beautiful way. The song is amazing too and a perfect fir for the post.
I hopeyour new year is light resting easy with you so far !!
BlessingsBlue Eyed Ennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06181985609681328032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-44271407373631537222010-12-31T17:01:33.442-06:002010-12-31T17:01:33.442-06:00Happy New Year, Vikki! It's a powerful notion, going back to Egypt, not to resubmit to its torments, but to walk freely away from it!

I'm so glad you liked Kirk's song. I find myself pulling it out every time unhealthy shadows from my past rear up. Just hearing "Gone, it's all gone," drives them away.

Have a blessed New Year, sweet friend--one of tremendous joy and growth!

Peace and love,
TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-6153193406438921772010-12-31T14:20:22.742-06:002010-12-31T14:20:22.742-06:00Dear Tim, what a great post!

What a great song.

Happy New Year, my friend! :)kkrynohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07727264476742817993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-7985732916271242032010-12-28T17:58:58.776-06:002010-12-28T17:58:58.776-06:00Sherry, I trust your Christmas was lovely and live...Sherry, I trust your Christmas was lovely and lively! I couldn't agree more--the seasonal readings burst at the seams with richness. At times, I pause to let it sink in: "God with us, as one of us, to redeem us." The mutual humbling and hope create a joy unlike any other.

This post was so long getting up because I got all caught up in the Moses parallels and it went on for days. It's an avenue well worth exploring in the future. But as I worked on it--and then with your mention of Moses--I recalled as a teen hearing an old, small-framed, relatively uneducated preacher undertake the subject. Such a precious man! As his sermon went on, I remember admiring what he was trying to articulate while sympathizing with him. "He's in over his head with this," I thought. But as he wrapped up, he said something that's never left me: "Through Moses, God cut a freedom road through the sea. Jesus is that road." The metaphor is mixed and the parallel inexact, but somehow it still works for me.

Thanks, dear friend, for your thoughts here. The added life you breathe into these pages is always such a joy.

Blessings always,
TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-38035613151258375272010-12-28T12:39:08.750-06:002010-12-28T12:39:08.750-06:00Jesus comes out of Egypt much like Moses does. It must have seemed strange to Joseph to be led to Egypt. It must have been the least likely place he would have chosen. And yet, as you point out, it was the perfect location.

There is so much richness in the readings at this time of year. Incarnation simply makes us all breathe deeper and fuller and Spirit lifts us to envision the world with hope.Sherry Peytonhttp://afeatheradrift.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
