I would strongly recommend downloading her "Never Alone" album (which has "All I Ever Have to Be" on it). As far as Lent music goes, there may not be a better collection. Almost every song speaks to some aspect of the season's spirit and concerns.

(And don't worry about not knowing her. I just found out who Lady Gaga was three weeks ago and evidently she's dominated the airwaves for the last two years!)

Grant, thanks for the suggestion. I've not heard Steve Bell's Psalms album, but I'm looking forward to it!

To both of you, what a blessing to have you in my faith family. You are both great inspirations and joys to me!

Peace and love,
TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-4854131742051296002010-02-25T15:46:36.101-06:002010-02-25T15:46:36.101-06:00Thanks - inspiring as always...
Re - Lent music ...Thanks - inspiring as always...

Re - Lent music - Steve Bell's earliest album contains some simple and yet rich adaptations of Psalms - Sample "You Are To Be Holy" from the album Comfort My Peoplegrantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-63994571005146456292010-02-25T14:15:07.985-06:002010-02-25T14:15:07.985-06:00Funny, Tim. I had never heard of Amy Grant and she is a very famous singer. Where have I been all my life?
Anyway, I look forward to discovering more songs that take me to Godde...

And you're right, today both of us seem to feel the same need to think of those who are not helped by the playing field...

Great song today. It gives me shivers...

Blessings.claire bangasserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12380558962103134334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-61079365386348604802010-02-25T11:42:07.805-06:002010-02-25T11:42:07.805-06:00Thanks, Jake. It brings me to the power of Good Friday and gives me absolute chills to my soul every single time. (I prefer the live version from their "Offerings" album, as it's got a bit more rock to it, but the message is the same no matter the version)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s_xIsRwEn8Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
