Rhone posted on his Facebook page yesterday:

"Most people attach their value to 'what they do.' This is a gross mistake... We are all valuable simply because we are. There is a high price placed upon everyone! No matter what you accomplish, or whether you accomplish anything at all. We are all more than our accomplishments. We should only think to accomplish great things as an expression of our greatness of being.

"If needed, what makes us great is that God created us! God doesn't create junk. What even makes us greater is that God created us in His own image and likeness. WOW! I know the Bible says that we were born in sin and shapen in iniquity, hence redemption... If you've ever wondered why God would sacrifice Jesus for you/us, know that it is because He was resolute about redeeming 'His image.' In the mind of God we were worth redeeming!

"Give it some thought! You are valuable! You are God's creation! If you haven't already...accept His redemption! Acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ! Be a new creation...putting on the image of Him who created you..."

Between both of your comments, there's nothing left to say. Knowing who we are is the first step to making a difference!

May God continue to pour his rich blessings into your life, Genevieve. I'm so grateful to have you as a dear friend and sister in Christ!

TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-90223385957009111972009-08-23T14:58:12.436-05:002009-08-23T14:58:12.436-05:00Tim, my ideas about job security ended in 1995 whe...Tim, my ideas about job security ended in 1995 when I was laid off. I had been with the company 24 years. I'm not concerned with tenure or job security but with getting the job done. I want to make a difference in someone's life regardless of my station or position. I will reread this post too.genevievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07041499205158357183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-10093343139766646522009-08-20T23:35:09.319-05:002009-08-20T23:35:09.319-05:00Fran, you're too kind. Re-reading the story, I...Fran, you're too kind. Re-reading the story, I was struck by how often we gauge ourselves by others, when we've been told to measure our lives by Christ's calling and standards.

No matter how much we learn, experience, or understand, we'll always stand in the shadows of other believers who've been at this longer than we. We're where we are when we are because that's where and when we're called to be. And because we live in a world that often values (and rewards) longevity over service, we're apt to believe that's how both kingdoms--of God and of heaven--work. But it's not so. We can't confuse what's important in our eyes with what's essential to God. They're not the same.

Blessings, my dear sister, for your encouragement. It's a gift I treasure deeply.

TimTimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271248501086241494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722447614945782871.post-80020792039345056232009-08-20T20:08:39.737-05:002009-08-20T20:08:39.737-05:00Oh Tim - this is brilliant.
